Marketing your Business - Web Site elements

 

 

Like a poster, your web site needs specific elements to be effective.With traditional marketing, search engine optimization and Pay-Per-Click programs you are attracting potential clients to you web site. Now what do you do!

There are a host of techniques that are "must haves" in most web sites. These elements greatly increase the chance that visitors will become customers.

Now that people are arriving at your web site. How do you convert them to customers?

You want to show your visitors that you will deliver the best quality for their dollar. You want to show them that you have the best products or you are the expert in the field.

Including the following elements in your web site will help do that. They are others elements, but this is a good start. Think of what would keep you returning to a web site and try to incorporate those ideas in your site.

E-mail Link Get them to register for specials, a newsletter, free stuff etc. It is important to try and get their email address. Address privacy concerns.
Demonstrate expertise Don't just say you are, show you are by providing them with information. Demonstrate your specialty.
Give a Seminar Give a seminar and include a call to action for them to respond if they would like to attend.
Map and Driving Directions If you expect people to come to your location, show them how to get there.
Referral Tool Make it easy for people to refer your site to a friend. Maybe include a button that says "Send to Friend" or have postcards that can be emailed etc. Maybe a cartoon that changes each week that they can send to a friend.
Contact Information Make it easy for them to contact people and get information.
Proprietary Process If you are the expert, you mush have a well defined process for addressing their needs. What is it?
Employee Bios Who are the experts that can help your customers.
News Releases Include a section on the web site for this and contact information for the media.
Current Clients You may want to list current clients or perhaps give a case study to demonstrate your work.
Legal Disclaimer Include a legal disclaimer as well as a copy write notice to protect your work.

 

Content is King

Don't worry about giving to much information away. Show people you can help them get what they are looking for.
